Transcribed Metropolitan Examination Paper

Go back
In Qing's Provincial and Metropolitan Examinations, the inked papers of the candidates are usually re-copied in red ink by copiers, in order to prevent the candidates' handwriting from telling the candidates' identity. The copiers only copy the text, without copying the edits and changes. The copied papers are read directly by the examiners, which is why they have marks and comments on them.
